Football for School Retention is a planned FPSC sports-for-development project designed for children in Kisangara and Mikameni/Lwami in Mwanga District. It uses regular, safe and inclusive football as an entry point for keeping vulnerable children connected to school, trusted adults, positive peers and family support.
The model combines structured football with attendance-risk tracking, practical life-skills learning, girls' inclusion, child safeguarding and referral support. The proposed delivery platforms are Furahini Youth Secondary School, Aman Hills Pre & Primary School and Amani Hills Sports Academy.
The external funding application proposes a 12-month implementation period and targets 300 children aged 8–17, including at least 120 girls. These are planned targets, not achieved results.
The project has been submitted for external funding and remains in the planned stage pending a funding decision and any resulting grant agreement.
