This planned FPSC initiative focuses on Maasai girls in Emuguri Village who are out of school or at serious risk of leaving education. The project responds to practical barriers including poverty, long travel distances, household and livestock responsibilities, early-marriage pressure and unequal access to continued schooling.
The approach is designed to work respectfully with girls, families, women leaders, elders and village leadership. It does not treat Maasai culture or pastoral life as the problem. Instead, it aims to build individual education and protection pathways while preserving identity, family participation and community ownership.
Proposed support includes needs-based school-entry or retention assistance, learning materials, menstrual-health support, mentoring, catch-up learning, enrolment assistance, family and community dialogue and routine attendance follow-up. FPSC safeguarding procedures and authorised referral pathways are intended to guide the work throughout.
The project has been submitted for external funding and remains in the planned stage. Its proposed participant numbers, activities and results are future targets rather than completed achievements.
